My Skin Care Routine

So, my skin care routine. What do I do? How is my skin like this? There's a number of factors that can affect your skin. I don't know if these are all true, but for me, when I was growing up I did have acne prone skin. I did the whole Acutane, I didn't like that. I did Proactiv. It worked, but I didn't wanna be hooked on it 'casue the minute I would stop, my zits would come back. And then... what finally worked? I don't know if it outgrew my acne. I don't know if there's such a thing. But, when I would drink a lot of water, like glasses and glasses of water, my skin would clear up. Messaging me, you know. For me, what I learned that works for my skin, is lots of water... you know, healthy eating. I eat lots of fruits and vegetables. I don't drink milk. The only milk I drink is almond milk. So, I find milk is kind of mucusy, and I don't know if it affects skin at all. But I don't drink milk, I don't eat red meat, I don't eat pork, I don't eat beef. During the week I don't eat chicken that much. Fish, I eat. Seafood, I eat. Lots of water. All that good stuff. So... that's what I do in terms of diet. But I still eat pizza, ice cream with milk... I just try not to buy it. And then in terms of stress, I keep my stress levels down. I am so prone to stress, so for me I have to pray, I have to meditate every morning and every night. That's how I keep my insides in check. Also, my pillow cases. Clean your pillow cases regularly. Hormones, when I'm on my period. I break out. And externally, I have some favorites. I like products that have a cooling effect. My cousin Jeigh, actually, he was working at a spa called Pure and Simple. And every time he would come over to my place, I would just raid his lotions because I... I like them. I am now using their products. Pure and Simple, it's awesome--it is a bit on the pricey side. And I really like their line. And it's all natural. So the first thing I do is I wash my face. I use Dr. Bronners. Peppermint. I have oily skin, so I like to strip my face of its oil. I don't think that's advisable, but that's what I like. So I use this, and it's a loofah. I exfoliate with this--you wet it it'll... blows right up. You just do in circular motions. I wash my face, I get it wet and then I add the soap. They say it's not good to exfoliate every day. I do. If I'm not using this, I used to alway suse a washcloth. But I need to like, scrub. 'Cause I'm so greasy. Once the face is washed, need to put moisturizer on my face. So my favorite moisturizer, hands down, is Pure and Simple's algae serum. It's all effing gone. Makes my skin feel moisturized, and for me, because I have oily skin, I don't like having a heavy, oily product on. This penetrates and leaves my skin feeling normal, not greasy, not dry, just normal. So I absolutely love this stuff, I'm all out. Jeigh used to work here. Jeigh is not only a singer, he is so intelligent and educated when it comes to health and wellness. And he's such a yogi bear. And so, this line, I was introduced by him. If you live in Toronto, go pay them a visit. Actually, stay tuned till the end, 'cause we're gonna do a giveaway for Pure and Simple. If I'm feeling fancy, I will do a mask. And I rarely spoil myself, so I do a mask when I'm either stressed out or if I just wanna treat myself. But again, I love their calming mask. Green. Like that. But yeah, I like this stuff. I put it on, and I wash it off. When I have a zit, like here. I will steal, again, from Jeigh. Nexcare. I put this on before I go to bed. And I wake up in the morning, and it like, sucks out the white head. Like, it's out. You take off... here, it comes like this. It's this little dot thing. Put it on. Go to bed, wake up, take it off, whitehead is gone. Without popping or breaking your skin. Jeigh got this off of Amazon. Or eBay. But I'll try an put a link in the description box. Sometimes I will use this. Kate Somerville. I think you can get this from Sephora. And it is a sulfur treatment. And you just stick your q-tip in, you DON'T shake it. I'm so silly, I shook it when I saw it 'cause it was--it like, separates. Anyways, don't shake it. Stick the q-tip in, pull it out and it's like a spot treatment for acne. I don't use these for whiteheads. I use these for whiteheads, and this just for like, zits that aren't white. Okay now down to my body. All over your body, girl. In the shower, I usually use gloves. You just get all sensual in the shower while you're bathing yourself. Eco tools, I got this from Whole Foods for $3 or $4. Sometimes I'll use this. Loofah. Sponge. And I wash again with my Dr. Bronner's. Love this stuff. Multi-purpose. I actually shampoo with this, since I cut off my hair. When it comes to skin, my body skin, I don't really... I'm not too fussy over lotions and stuff like that. But I do like the Nubian Heritage. It's really thick. It's super thick. Look at that--and it's hard to squeeze. But look at that, that's a workout, look at my arms. I like this line because I can get it on 125th, from the street vendors. I did see it at whole foods. And I do believe it's... all natural. It is all natural. It's good. Look, it has a nice sheen. That's pretty much it, so... My tip, my little beauty tip for keeping my skin in check, is drinking lots of water. Lots of water. I drink a lot of water, and I drink a lot of tea, actually. Even in the summer. I'm like a tea head. I drink like, 3 or 4 cups of tea a day. Yeah, I think that's it.
