Hi It's Chantal Monique, and today I'm talking about an approach to skin care. It's layering skin care, this is really big in the Asian and French markets and the reason why is they believe if you have beautiful skin, you'll use less makeup. And in America we spend way more money on cosmetics and makeup than we do our skin care. Um some people have a very simplified approach to their skincare routine, um, and if that works for you, and you just use a cleanser and moisturizer and have beautiful skin, good for you. But the rest of us have major skin issues and concerns and sometimes we need a little bit more to help us out with that. So a layering skincare approach you would first do your eye makeup remover step, and that can be with an oil cleanser or gel cleanser that's specific for removing makeup. Then you would cleanse your face, some people like a double cleanse, other people are using cleansing devices like their Clarionic or FOREO luna. Then some people are going into an exfoliation step. Like I said, if you're using the FOREO or Clarionic, then that would be part of your exfoliation. But some other people like a grit, or a physical exfoliant. Then after the cleansing there would be your toner and booster step. Some toners are more alcohol based, and those are for more acneaic skins. Others are more hydrating and prepping the skin to start taking on products that you're putting on. Next you would be doing your eye cream. Some people then do a mask, sheet mask, clay mask, um, some people would then be doing an essence or serum as part of targeting specific skin care concerns. Spot treatments, like those with hydrocodone, and things to do work on hyperpigmentation, or other issues, or spot treatment for acne. That'll probably be followed up by your cream, your moisturizer, and lastly your sunscreen, and its very important to wear sunscreen. You're going to hear me say that a million times over, but that's really important. So layering and skin care it can be from 3, 5 steps all the way up to 11 to thirteen depending on the amount of time you have and amount of products you're into. If you're a product junkie like I am, and constantly using and trying new things. And that's the layered approach to skin care and maybe its something you want to try out. Take care, bye
