Hi, I'm Kim with Simply Beautiful in Austin, Texas, lets talk about how to rid yourself of acne. Acne is a result of a couple of things, your skin is naturally producing oil, those people who are acne prone may be producing more oil than people with normal skin so you're having normal combination or oily skin. The skin is going to get blogged, the oil comes up to the surface and creates a breakout. So, to reduce the acne, we're going to keep the surface of the skin very clean and free of impurities and anything that might block the skin. So, that's going to mean cleaning your skin at least twice a day with an appropriate cleanser that says, on the package, for oily skin or normal combination skin, toning your skin with a toner that is for normal combination or oily skin. I'm using Lancome's new product called Radiance, what this does is it helps to sweep away some of the dead skin and makes your skin real fresh and clean, you don't want to over dry your skin though. So, cleanse and tone twice a day, I'm going to ask you also to exfoliate your skin. This is St. Ives, love this product, it's about six dollars. I'm going to just do it on Alina's hand about the size of a quarter, all over your face, rubbing in circular motions. Focus it on the nose, the chin and the forehead, where you are probably more prone to breakouts and on your cheeks. I want you to do this a couple of times a week, very gently. Rinse it off using warm water, not hot, followed by cool water, I'm just going to use a tissue for our purposes here. Exfoliation gets rid of the dead surface skin, which causes blockages. Also, at least once a week, I want you to use a clay mask, any clay mask will do, St. Ives has a great one. Just go look for one that says clay mask, oil free, they're all oil free. What they do is they bring the oil to the surface of your skin and clear out those pores of any dirt and impurities. So, we're going to cleanse and tone, exfoliate, mask, those are your basic actions that you have to take. Also, I'd like for you to drink a lot of water, get your sleep and take vitamins, those are the best things that you can do. Keep your hands away from your face, change your pillow case every two of three days and if you're still having a problem, there's a cluster of acne, then you might have a bacterial infection and you might want to go to the dermatologist. Remember, always keep sunscreen on your skin, an oil-free sunscreen because that will help reduce scarring.
